The number of IP cores installed in SoC products is increasing, making it difficult to design a bus for connecting the IP cores. To solve this problem, we have implemented SonicsMX and S3220 designed by Sonics, Inc., of the U.S.A.

SonicsMX is a high-speed bus IP that supports multisocketing of CCP, AXI, AHB, etc. As an on-chip bus connecting IPs in an SoC, it controls data communication among the IPs. It has a maximum bus bandwidth of 128 bits and can achieve an operating frequency of at least 250 MHz. SonicsMX is also equipped with a power management interface, a function for stopping the clock for each connected IP, and a function for transitioning only the active buses. These features enable customers to reduce the power consumption of their SoC products. S3220 is an interconnect IP for connecting peripheral IPs such as USB and Ethernet.

SonicsStudio is available for the development environment. It consists of GUI and a variety of tools and utilities that are executed from the command line. SonicsStudio can be used to call up cores and bus function models for executing configuration simulation and performance analysis. It can also automatically generate an interconnect IP RTL and a SystemC model.
