Kawasaki is offering both standard and Semi-Custom AFE (Analog Front End) chips so the designer is now free to fully define a device that meets all their requirements. Our extensive experience designing AFE's for home networks has enabled us to develop a comprehensive standard product offering that covers virtually all applications. Our ASIC expertise has enabled us to offer our customers the unique capability of defining their own AFE chips using our Semi-Custom approach.

This approach enables the designer to tailor the AFE to the specific physical layer, bandwidth and data rate they are developing for.

A Semi-Custom AFE can be used in a broad range of networking applications with the parameters tailored to the specific physical layer, required bandwidth and power. The K-micro Semi-Custom AFE is particularly well suited for:

Smart Grid The government sponsered plan to revitialize the power grid along with management and communications with devices on the grid. Will create the need for a wide variety of low cost low power network devices.

Home Networking The increasing use of different physical layers in the home network that is continuously increasing in speed and function has generated the need for network devices capable of delivering high performance over a wide range of network conditions. The unique requirements of the physical layers require AFE's that are tuned to the specific physical layer to achieve the highest performance at the lowest cost.
